Our lab studies how people develop conceptual understanding in biological science. We are a lab that LOVES biology! We love learning about how and why life works in the ways it does, and we want our students to love it as much as we do. We are therefore curious about approaches, tools, and environments designed to promote learning and want to know what helps and hinders students as they master a concept or make their way through a biology course, curriculum, or profession.

Our team includes postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates representing a range of interests and expertise, including plant biology, ecology, cognitive science, evolution, and neuroscience. Please visit our Research page for more about the work we do and a summary of active projects. If you think you might like to join our team, please see our available opportunities or contact us for more information.
